If you have less than a 20% deposit, its important to know if your home loan savings counts as per lender criteria.
Why wouldn’t my savings count?
There are many reasons that a lender may not count your savings as genuine. If you have less than a 20% deposit, in general, than stricter criteria may apply to your savings.
This is for both owner occupied and investment properties where you don’t hold sufficient equity in another property. It can be a little challenging to know which lenders will count your savings as genuine. Thankfully, at Bee Finance Savvy, we can help.
Whilst some lenders simply require you to have 5% of the purchase price saved in your account for over three months, others have much stricter criteria which can apply. Some lenders require that the amount you have saved each month, in the months prior to your loan application is equal to the amount that you will be paying in future mortgage payments. Some lenders will count rental payments towards this, whilst others will not. It can be confusing for customers to know which lenders will accept their savings, and that’s where Bee Finance Savvy can help.
